Relief should not be confined to officers with wife and children at home. The Sterl- ing Scele contained in C.8.0. Circular No.47 of 22nd Sept. 1920 should be extended. Should exchange remein at ite present level the local cost of living will undoubtedly rise considerably. there are other cases of officers compelled to make remittances
(Intld) H. T. C.
I agree.
(Intld) S.C.
am strongly of opinion that immediate relief is necessary, but would go further and recommend that in view of the position which Government officials are expected to maintain and 3 should be substituted for and in a & b respec tively. Discretionary power should also be given to His Excellency the Governor in other cases such as provis- ion for parenta.
